Praying For Others Changes My Heart

2013 was an amazing year. It’s great to look back and see things come together and realize God orchestrated it all. When we take time to listen to His nudging, or listen when He says “no”… He will bless us for it. I have watched Him working in my family and my friends lives this year. One of the most wonderful blessings was watching Him put together a precious prayer group that He has allowed me to be a part of. He knew we needed each other. But more importantly, He’s got a plan for us. I can’t wait to see what it is! One of the sweetest lessons I’ve learned in 2013 is about prayer. As He worked in my life over the last year, I have prayed like never before. I am not good at praying out loud, but when it’s just me & Him, I pour my heart out. What I’ve realized is whether He answered my prayers or not, He was changing my heart. How incredible is that?! Through prayer, faith increases, and when that happens, “problems” just don’t seem as big as before. In His Presence, we are changed by His Spirit, which should eventually change us to have a heart like His. “The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.” Soren Kierkegaard
God Bless you all and Happy New Year!
