When I started this blog, I vowed to only share things that had great meaning to me. Today I decided I will finish out the year with thanksgiving, by writing letters to some very special people in my life. I have learned we must tell the people we love, how much they mean to us while they are still here.
Dear Daddy,
You are my hero. I’ve always thought you were the strongest and smartest man I knew! You always made me feel protected and loved. The one thing that sticks out to me the most though, is how you love me; always unconditionally. Whenever I did something wrong, you would correct me and then go on as if nothing ever happened. I never doubted your love and you always displayed Christ’s love to me! You’ve also displayed the character of Christ in how you love Moma. I am overwhelmed when I realized how incredibly blessed I am with you as my earthly Father, I could not ask for more!
Dear Moma,
You are my rock and the strongest woman I have ever known. Just thinking back on when I was little, you always took the best care of us. When Daddy was on the road, you could handle anything! Even if it meant taking care of a snake in the yard (which I am sure I could not handle!) You supported me in every choice I ever made, and that is not something every child can say about their Mom. You’ve loved me unconditionally and have always been there whatever I needed. More recently, I’ve watched you endure so much (back surgery with serious complications, breast cancer, and MRSA that almost took your leg) but you always came out of it with determination and a smile. Words could NEVER describe the pride and love I have for you!
The only thing better than having you as my parents, is that my children have you as their Granny & Papa. You’ve loved me no matter what. Just like Christ… no matter the sin, if we ask for God’s forgiveness, He will dust us off and keep right on loving us and forget it ever happened!
Hebrews 10:16-17 “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
Awesome! I love your parents too! They did an awesome job raising you and setting a great example for you. It is very evident in the amazing way you are raising your boys! You are passing along to them what your parents taught to you!
ReplyDeleteLove you all!
